Jamilla Deville is a pioneer of the art of pole dancing. Coming from a background in various forms of dance, as well as adagio, trapeze and silks, Jamilla started pole dancing in 2000 and was one of the industry’s very first professional instructors. Having claimed the original title of Miss Pole Dance Australia, she went on to create the International Pole Federation, an organisation created by dancers, for dancers, as well as the first volumes of the series that would quickly become the most popular pole dance instructional series in the world: The Art of Pole DVD Collection. Known as “the pole dancers bible”, The Art of Pole has expanded into a top-selling series of 8 DVDs which continues to influence both students and teachers globally. From 2009-2011 Jamilla was awarded International Instructor of the Year from the IPDFA as well as from Pole Dance International Magazine. Most recently, she won the United Pole Artists Pro Poler of the Year 2014 award.
Jamilla is the face of X-Pole Australia since 2005, and in 2013 she also became a sponsored Mighty Grip Athlete. She is proud to represent these two major pole industry brands, and represents both X-Pole and Mighty Grip at events internationally.
Inspired by reaching new heights and helping other dancers to do the same, Jamilla’s love is for instructing, performing, as well as traveling and connecting with dancers everywhere.
